He is widely known for his loss to former WEC champion Steve Cantwell in which Cantwell broke Al-Hassan's arm in a very graphic manner, Al-Hassan's arm popped past 180 degrees, ending up close to 270 degrees, he refused to tap and then seemed confused when the referee ended the fight.
