Ryan McGivern (born January 17, 1980) is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He is currently fighting for the Quad City Silverbacks of the International Fight League.
When not in the ring, McGivern works for the U.S. Army as a civilian general engineer at Rock Island, Illinois.
McGivern was involved in many activities at the University of Iowa, including Air Force ROTC and campus ministries, receiving a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. But mixed martial arts always retained a pull on his attentions, and his competitive juices led him to more serious training and eventually a spot on Miletich's squad.
McGivern lists his interests as snowboarding, reading, writing fantasy adventure stories, and dancing.
