Rick Story on Jon Fitch: "I think I'd be able to knock him out."

his hands and kicks. I wouldn't want it to be a boring fight because people don't like boring fights. I don't like boring fights and I don't like watching myself in a boring fight. It just kinda disgusts me. But everyone's going to think that in a fight with Fitch it's going to be two wrestlers battling for position, but I'd like to keep it on the feet and see how it goes from there."

With a fight against Fitch unlikely for the foreseeable future, Story had another top welterweight contender in mind provided he gets past Marquardt next week.

"I think I'd like to fight B.J. Penn," Story said. "Just because I think I've enjoyed watching him fight so much and it's always exciting watching him fight. I think it would be an exciting fight to have. I push the pace and I keep coming at you until the fight ends. I think I'd grind him into the ground. I'd make him tired and make him want to quit."

Story is said to be one or two fights away from a potential match up with St. Pierre for the welterweight title. With a win over Marquardt and another over the likes of Penn or another top flight contender, Story could very well be looking down the barrel of a title fight with GSP. So what does he think of the current champ?

"I think GSP's awesome," Story said. "He's very talented, he just doesn't use his athleticism and ability to dominate fights anymore. He's in a position to where he can make people fight his style to try to beat him because he's not trying to win the title anymore, he's just trying to hold onto it. It just kinda seems like he's playing the safe game to keep his title. Maybe he's comfortable with his income and his lifestyle now. Maybe he's lost some of his desire to be so dominant or have something to prove, he's already proven it so maybe now he's just riding it out."

Though the fight hasn't yet materialized, Story has already thought about how he'd fight the champ.

"I'd be all up in his business," Story said. "I wouldn't let him breathe. I wouldn't let him play his jab game that he's been playing the last couple fights. I'd actually make it a fight and make him fight me rather than make it a strategic battle."

And then they get Fitched, unless they're GSP. GO HARD: War Story!!!! flyangler: "For a fight with Fitch, I'd like to keep it standing and test his ability to throw his hands and kicks. I wouldn't want it to be a boring fight because people don't like boring fights. I don't like boring fights and I don't like watching myself in a boring fight. It just kinda disgusts me" ................ For a fight with Mardquardt? "I think my takedown and control on top is better than his ability to get out," Story said. "You watch his fight against Chael Sonnen, I mean, Chael ended up just out-wrestling the crap out of him and just dominating on top, and I think that's pretty much what it boils down to" If Story wins it will disgust him GO HARD: hes going to beat Nate M JujitsWho: Anyone laughing their *** off at the fact that Story thinks he can KO Fitch? Fitch has an IRON CHIN. Dude has taken beatings and come out smiling. A KO isn't happening Rick. Sorry to burst your bubble. You winning isn't happening.
