Rampage Jackson on fighting Rashad Evans: "I’m gonna try to knock his head off."
by Giada Esposito on February 04, 2010
I just feel a little let down. I do things for the UFC. The time I fought Wanderlei Silva, I was supposed to be fighting for my belt back then, but I'm not. It's kind of weird. I feel like if I do stuff for people. I wish people would do the same things for me, hook me back up."

Jackson seemed hesitant when asked about his plans for the future, although he expressed interest in fighting again for the light-heavyweight title. He also made clear that he is still interested in acting, and does not want to grow old as a fighter.

"I don't know what my intention is right now, to be honest," Jackson said. "I don't know what I'm doing. I want to prove that I'm still one of the best fighters in the world. You know, I would always like to be champ. I've found a new love people! I love doing movies. Acting is so much fun. It don't hurt, and I know I can do it for a long period of time. People should respect that. Everybody's not a Randy Couture. Everybody's not a Mark Coleman. Everybody's not a Don Frye. I can't fight all those years like that, man. I've been fighting my whole life. I'm basically almost over fighting, especially if I feel like I'm getting taken advantage of. If I feel like I'm not getting the respect that I'm due. I fight for money, this is a job. If you feel like it's a dead-end job, who wants to work?"

At this point Rampage has just one fight left on his UFC contract, and he has committed to facing Evans in a match that is expected to headline UFC 114. Jackson had strong opinions about Evans when asked about his recent performance against Thiago Silva at UFC 108 and their upcoming bout.

"I thought he was doing pretty good at first," Jackson said. "I ain't hating on Rashad. He had a game plan that he stuck to. I'm not psychic, but I know what I plan to do. I plan on knocking him the hell out. What Rashad don't know about chins is, either you have a good chin or you don't have a good chin. And Rashad don't have a good chin. I'm gonna test that chin, and I'm gonna try to knock his head off. That's what I'm gonna try to do. I've got a great game plan, and I'm gonna stick to my game plan. I'm training for him right now, I just started my training. Rashad is not going to do nothing except what he always do, he's going to run and try to get away. He's not going to fight me like a man. So I'm not even anticipating that. If Rashad stands there and fights me like a man, than I'm going to gain respect for him. But right now he has zero of my respect."

Jackson has a career record of 30-7, and last fought at UFC 96 where he won a unanimous decision over Keith Jardine. Evans is 16-1-1 in his career, and most recently won a unanimous decision over Thigao Silva at UFC 108.
