great coach and his view on the game is second to none. He's really good at what he does. He knows the sport inside out and comes up with the best strategies to match each fighter that he trains. FiveKnuckles.com: Are the WEC jitters gone being that this is your third fight with the promotion?
Frank Gomez: In my first WEC fight, my nerves were almost unbearable. I can't even explain it. The atmosphere of the whole thing was almost surreal. It almost felt like I didn't belong. The second time around was a lot easier. I think it's going to keep getting better from here. There's always going to be jitters in any fight anywhere. It's up to me to control them. I know what to expect now and there's no questioning the fact that I'll be ready.
Every fight is going to get tougher and tougher. At this stage in the game, every fight that I have is the biggest fight of my career. I'm trying to prove myself and show that I can contend for the title. This is the biggest fight of my career and the next one after this is going to be the biggest fight of my career. That's the way it's going to be as I climb up the ladder. I'm going to have to produce and that's the bottom line. I know for a fact that they don't take kindly to losing in the WEC. A fighter needs to win to stay in the game and the WEC is where I want to be because it's where the best fighters in the world compete.
FiveKnuckles.com: What can Seth Dikun expect when the cage door shuts on November 18?
Frank Gomez: Seth's a real tough guy, but I'm trying to make a name for myself. I'm still looking for the respect that I deserve in the WEC so expect for me to keep the pace up. I'm going to stay right in his face, I'm going to be coming at him for the whole fifteen minutes, and I'm going for the finish. I never want the fight to go to a decision and leave it up to the judges. It's a personal goal of mine to be the best in the world. I want that number one spot. If that's not a fighter's main goal, then I don't think he should be fighting in the WEC. Every fighter should want the belt. I know I do and I'm coming after it.
