Stephan Bonnar believes Jon Jones is the Tiger Woods of mixed martial arts
by Tim Groves on June 08, 2011
like Bonnar to feel animosity towards them.

But one man currently fighting for the UFC drew the ire of Bonnar. One man who has a list of enemies as long as some of the most hated men in the history of sports. Like so many other fighters out there, Stephan Bonnar would simply cherish the opportunity to beat the tar out of none other than Josh Koscheck

"Not in my division, but overall probably Koscheck," Bonnar said when asked who rubbed him the wrong way. "Mainly because I started a new t-shirt line called Trash Talking Kids, kinda a parody of the old Garbage Pail Kids from the 80's except with UFC fighters. He actually inspired the idea, he talks so much s**t in the Daley fight and after the fight. The whole time I see Koscheck talking s**t to him on the ground, I thought it was hilarious and I was carrying on about it.

"Then sure I knew he was gonna get to Daley. Turns out afterward that he was saying terrible things about Daley's mom and all that. Well it's kinda understandable that Daley tried to punch him afterwards and sure enough he got to Daley. Daley lost his cool and punched him afterwards. I thought it was the funniest thing, like he is just a trash talking kid at heart.

"Since then we made a whole bunch more. He got wind of it and he didn't like it and I tried to explain it to him firsthand. 'Like, look we're doing them for all the fighters. It's kinda a joke, just cartoon versions of the fighters.'  His version is called Josh Koshbygosh and he kinda looks like a Cabbage Patch doll, because he really does. Anyway, so he didn't like it. Turns out we won't be able to sell his but we will be able to sell the other ones. I didn't think his was gonna sell too much anyway. We're getting hit up his lawyers at the moment, it's been a pain in the ass. So if anyone rubs me the wrong way, it'll be Koscheck for sicking his lawyers on me.

"I would drop a lot of weight to fight him."

Stephan Bonnar made the preceding statements while appearing as a guest on MMA Fight Corner presented by FiveKnuckles.com. You can catch the interview in its entirety below.

 |  (49) Comments Wandering_Minstrel: He may be the Tiger Woods, but Travis Lutter is the Michael Jordan of MMA. :D B_Type13X2: I know its gonna seem like straight hating but I would really like to see Jon Jones defend the damned title before he is made into the second coming... Like is everyone stupid I realize the guy is talented but don't let the hype get ahead of the fighter. We don't know what sort of champion he is or if it will all go to his head which if everyone's praising him all the time and making him out to be an MMA god could very well happen and then we'll see him self destruct. Boots: Nooo Jon Jones is better than Tiger Woods! GO HARD: its Bonnars opinion, and he could very well be rite. why not voice your opinion and prediction of a fighters future. jon has proven that he is superior underpressure... stronger than his competition and gosh darnit he has the IT FACTOR. do i think he will be the tiger woods of mma?? i feel like u cant compare stars and athletes of different sports.. why isnt he the lebron jomes, the serena williams,...?? also Golf has only a few stars that i know of.... if tiger is not in an event, it hurts golf alot. if jon jones isnt in an event, it hurts mma zero. that in that aspect, nobody in mma would be a tiger woods. *shrug* GO HARD: either way.. DAT BOY GOOOOD!! B_Type13X2: I could care less about which sports analogy is used, I refuse to say anything about Jones until he establishes himself as a dominant champion by having more then 1 title defense. ****IF**** he holds the belt for 3 successive title defenses then I will be the first to commend him and the current hype that is behind him. Until I see him defend the belt and see him continue to fight how he has been with the added pressure of being the champion I will not. Tyson had the **IT** factor too and what happened to him? Sports psychology is very important to an athlete too. Lets see if he is as mentally tough as he is physically. GO HARD: i mean how often have we heard doubts on jones. and they all get proven wrong. "jones is going to get outwrestled by Hamill, lets see how he does bottom" "Jones will get owned by vera standing, and if he takes it to the ground he will get submitted" "Janitor will be Jones toughest test. I think Janitor wins this" "Lets see how Jones is on bottom, becuz Bader is a waay better wrestler" "jones better not try that fancy stuff on shogun, he will go to sleep. If he takes shogun down, he WILL be submitted" i mean i heard it all before... Jones is the real deal. He doesnt really have to prove anything else to me. win or lose in the near future, this kid is going to be great very soon. he always looks better, and it will be no difference when he movs to HW. illegalpoke: Yeah. Well. I still consider Rampage, Rashad or Davis a big test for him. *ignoring all points* illegalpoke: That's true. flyangler: I think the only person that can give Bones a good go, is Bonnar himself. He is definetly one of the best 205'ers in history. flyangler: The winner of Bonnar / Vemola should get a title shot. GO HARD: lol i laugh, cuz me and fly didnt even aknowledge any sarcasm from the other... and just went with it. flyangler: That was great:D I do love Bonnar though and he may actually be in the UFC HOF someday. Bonnar would beat Kimbo for the record.
