Path of "Terror": Seven exciting matchups for Matt Serra
by Mitch Ciccarelli on February 07, 2010
Serra. On the contrary, for Serra a win over a hungry young lion in Johnson would speak volumes for his relevancy in the division.

As far as the fight would be concerned, fans should expect nothing more than an intense battle ending dramatically. Someone will have their lights put out as both athletes have sticks of dynamite in their strikes.

Then again Serra might look to exploit Johnson's weakness on the ground and utilize his world-class Jiu-Jitsu en route to a submission win.

Thank you... ... as you were, gentlemen. :D arlovskiviako: The only match he would win would be against Baroni Wandering_Minstrel: "Rumble" would be a bad fight for Serra, but I liked the others. thebutterflybee: 2 things. I love Matt Serra. I dont care that he might not win all these match ups, I'd still pay to see him fight anyone. Secondly, Mithc you described John Hathaway as a striker? Both fights I have seen him have been strictly take down, gnp, wrestling tactics. Have I missed out on something? Jason Lee: Serra vs. Condit would be the best fight out of that list, and could go either way. I'm a huge Matt Serra fan.. therefore I wouldn't put him in the cage against Rumble. I don't think Serra can take him. Condit would be the closest fight on the list to me. Serra would definitely take out Baroni, Swick, and Davis. Brown would be a closer fight, but I'd still have Serra winning that match up. Sanchez may beat Serra.. and Rumble would almost most likely beat Serra. Hizoka: i think serra would beat davis... and swick... and i would like to see the fight with Kos simply becasue Kos is too over confident in his standup and hes got almost as fragil of a jaw as Arlovski Giada Esposito: I think Serra would most definitely beat Baroni, and would put on good fights against most of the others. I think the Davis and Swick fights would be the most entertaining on the list, although I'm with Natalia that I don't really want to see Davis against Serra and have to pick one of them. :p aethlefirth: dont believe he lost the hughes fight i hope he fights again soon,im a big fan of SERRA always have been...... Internet Tufguy: Matt Brown is in the mud-hole-stompin' buisiness and that is just what he'd do if Serra didn't manage to get it to the ground and keep it there. I don't think Serra would manage that. Then again, I thought Swick was gonna show up and fight. Cryptic_Soldier: I think anyone who can last through 3 minutes of being pounded in the face can beat old Phil. Sodallah proved that, as did Evan Tanner back in the day when Baroni was "good". However if your durability or chin has ever been questioned you might want to fake an injury if your goin in against Baroni or face the fact the ringside doc is gonna be scraping your flopping carcass off the matt. Serra most def has a good deal of talent. On a fighter level I got much respect for the man. On a personal level I cant stand him or Matt Hughes. Both total d-bags. Those match ups all seems good although I think pairing a guy who "naturally" fights at LW against a guy who "normally" weighs in the 200+ range (IE Rumble Johnson) would be an issue for Serra. IMO Rumble should move to MW, Cutting 30+ pounds every fight will enevitably catch up to you in the form of kidney failure (or a number of other illnesses) later in your carreer/life. JujitsWho: Damn Cryptic, you brought the whole tribe here with you huh LOL aethlefirth: hey people were not sposed to know that!:o hi JJW The Hitman: would love to see him fight almost all these people espically sanchez, rumble, and i think hughes should be on there
