UFC 110: "Nogueira vs. Velasquez" LIVE Round by Round Coverage
by Mike Williams on February 20, 2010
Stevenson finds his arm in an omoplata but it's not locked in. Sotiropoulos sweeps and gains side control only to be reversed by Stevenson again. Stevenson attempts a leg lock but Sotiropoulos scrambles free and locks in an anaconda choke but the round ends, once again a 10-9 for Sotiropoulos.

round 3-  The round begins with a nice combination by Sotiropoulos as the crowd chants "Aussie! Aussie!"  He shoots but Daddy snatches him in a guillotine but can't secure it. They scramble back to the standup and Stevenson doesn't appear to have an answer for anything Sotiropoulos does. Stevenson shoots, Sotiropoulos sprawls and they slide to the fence. Stevenson gets him down and finds himself in half guard with a minute and a half to go. Stevenson is on top but the submission attempts come from every angle so he can't do any damage. Sotiropoulos works to his feet again but Stevenson takes him down again. He still can't mount any offense and the round ends in a 10-9 and a 30-27 victory for the home hero.

final result:  Sotiropoulos wins by unanimous decision.

Wanderlei Silva vs. Michael Bisping

round 1- They feel each other out and trade leg kicks. A few jabs fall short in each direction then Bisping shoots and takes Silva down. Silva gets to his feet only to be taken down immediately but gets right back up again. Bisping looks to be avoiding the right hand of Silva by circling away from it. He takes Silva down again but can't get on top before Silva gets right up again. Silva lands a decent right hand and Bisping answers with a few legs kick. Silva lunges and lands a flurry but no real damage. Bisping lands a nice right and they swap more leg kicks. A Bisping takedown attempt is averted by Silva and Silva attacks with a flurry as the round ends in a 10-9 for Bisping, mainly for the takedowns.

round 2-  Bisping is getting in and out quickly but missing as Silva lands a leg kick then takes Bisping down and starts working some ground and pound. Bisping lands a few elbows from the bottom and scrambles free but advantage Silva in the ground exchange. Bisping throws a kick and Silva scores with a nice right. Bisping secures a double leg takedown and gets side control but does no damage before Silva gets loose again. They're not very active on their feet, more leg kicks each way then a Bisping takedown ends in a tight arm-in guillotine by Silva. Bisping is saved by the bell but the round is 10-9 Silva on our card.

round 3- Bisping lands a left hook and it looks like the submission attempt might have tired Silva's arms. Silva lands two rights but they don't hurt. Bisping kicks Silva in the groin and they take a break. The action resumes with a body kick by Bisping then a right hand by Silva. Silva sprawls out of a Bisping takedown attempt and Silva drops his hands and taunts Bisping. Silva seems rejuvenated as he looks for the right hand bomb to finish the fight. Bisping throws a right but pokes Silva in the eye, another short break. Silva attacks with a sense of urgency and the right hand is looking to send Bisping to sleep but is just missing. Silva lands one and hurts Bisping but Bisping recovers. Silva ends the round with a nasty flurry and a few nice ground shots, the fight was very close to being stopped by Josh...
