at all. People ask me if I can handle all the travelling, but in the situation I'm in, if travel is the worst thing that can happen to me, I'm doing pretty well (laughing). I love to travel and to meet different people and see new ideas and see the sport grow. To go to places like Dublin or Belfast, Ireland, Manchester, or Cologne, Germany and to see the people respond just like they do in Las Vegas is beyond words. FiveKnuckles.com: This year the UFC has already confirmed Sydney, Abu Dhabi, and Vancouver. Mexico City and Toronto might be options as well so there are no signs of slowing down. You're quite the globetrotting cut man... there's a lot of people out there that would sure like to be in your shoes?
Stitch Duran: (Laughs) Man, you don't know how many people want to be in my shoes. People think this kind of thing happens over night and they don't realize how many major sacrifices I've made to get to this point. I was just fortunate enough to have Dana White ask me to work for him when Zuffa took over. My first event was UFC 32 and my life changed from there. Now here I am doing this interview with you.
FiveKnuckles.com: With all you've accomplished in your time, I'm sure this interview is definitely the pinnacle of your career (laughs)..."Stitch," what's your favorite place you've been to in all the years you've been involved in the fight game?
Stitch Duran: In all honesty, I'd have to say there's no place like Las Vegas. I love it when my travels take me right down the street to the MGM or Mandalay Bay (laughing). I tell everyone worldwide that there are no fights like the ones that take place in the big casinos. It's great going to Montreal and places like Belfast or Dublin. Those are great places and the reaction for the UFC is tremendous, but there's nothing like a fight in Las Vegas. I recommend to anybody that wants to see a fight that you got to buy your ticket to Vegas. You go to other areas like the aforementioned places, and after the fights everybody goes in their own direction. After the fights in Vegas, everybody stays in the casinos so it's a just a big party and the fighters are so receptive to the fans and you're able to see them first hand. I've got to say that Las Vegas is definitely number one on my list.
FiveKnuckles.com: Being a Vegas guy myself, you've definitely got my seal of approval. I agree 100% that nothing ever has, nor ever will, beat the vibe of fight night in the "LV." Everybody is a rock star in Vegas and when people come here they want to be a part of the show. Nobody here is star struck like in other cities so we don't expect anything less, and the fighters have the best reputations in town.
Stitch Duran: Right on my man; and you'll never see a fighter just pass by a fan and not acknowledge them. These are the most fan friendly athletes that you'll ever come across and they're 100% real. When you're a fighter, you believe that you're the baddest man on the planet and nobody's going to kick your ass. There's a certain level of confidence that comes with that. Instead of always...
