UFC welterweight Demian Maia faced off today against the ever-dangerous Rick Story at UFC 153.
The event aired live today from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was headlined by a highly anticipated light-heavyweight showdown between Stephan Bonnar and current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Maia began the fight by immediately going for the clinch, and pushed Story against the chain link fence. He then tripped Story to the ground, and began working his world-class Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
As the two scrambled for position on the ground, Maia ended up taking Story's back before securing a very tight rear naked choke/neck crank. The submission was so tight that it caused blood to shoot from Story's nose causing the very tough welterweight to tap.
The win was Maia second consecutive at welterweight after dropping down from middleweight following losses in two of his last three fights in the weight class.
