Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami booked for UFC 155
by Matt Clark on September 14, 2012

The UFC announced Thursday evening that middleweights Alan Belcher and Yushin Okami will rematch one another at UFC 155.

Belcher (18-6) recorded his fourth consecutive win after taking out Rousimar Palhares in May. The oft injured Belcher broke his right hand during the fight resulting in an extended absence. He was scheduled to take on Vitor Belfort at UFC 153 until Belfort was offered and excepted a light-heavyweight title fight against Jon Jones at UFC 152.

For Belcher, who eventually found himself left off the card entirely, it probably worked out for the best, as the Biloxi native was given extra time to heal from a spinal fracture.

Okami (27-7) has lost two of his last three, but scored a TKO victory over Buddy Roberts in his last outing at UFC 150. The Japaneses star defeated Belcher via unanimous decision at UFC 62 back in August of 2006.

UFC 155 goes down December 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. An event venue has yet to be announced.

 |  (9) Comments Giada Esposito: This should be a great fight. I'm taking Belcher, but Okami is no pushover for anybody except Anderson Silva. :) Wandering_Minstrel: I think Belcher will be the favorite going into this one. It really all depends on whether Yushin Okami gets his fire back, now that he is back in the win column. flyangler: He should have won the decision the first time. Hwe is going to KO him for that. WAR Belcher! thug4less: I'm going with Okami. Belcher's body is aging faster than that tattoo on his arm. GO HARD: I got Thunder. Giada Esposito: No way! I've got Belcher by TKO! :)
