UFC fans are headed for a very busy October.
Over the course of the weekend the promotion announced their lineup for UFC 136, set to take place on Oct. 8, which will now include two championship fights -- a featherweight match up between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Kenny Florian, and a lightweight title fight rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
Also announced for the card were two lightweight eliminator fights featuring Melvin Guillard vs. Joe Lauzon, and Anthony Pettis vs. Jeremy Stephens, along with welterweight match-ups between Demian Maia and Jorge Santiago, and Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann.
Not to be outshined, UFC 137, set for Oct. 28, will boast a huge title fight of its own when Nick Diaz squares off against current welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.
Also, just announced this weekend, BJ Penn will attempt to inch closer to a welterweight title shot of his own when he takes on perennial contender, Carlos Condit.
Two very intriguing heavyweight match ups between Cheick Kongo and Matt Mitrione, and Mirko Cro Cop and Roy Nelson are also featured on the card along with recently announced fights between light-heavyweights Brandon Vera and Elliot Marshall and lightweights Sam Stout and Dennis Siver.
