A war of words has been traded back and forth recently between Russian heavyweights, Aleksander Emelianenko and Sergei Kharitonov. The latest episode has Aleksander, younger brother of Fedor Emelianenko, addressing Kharitonov's military career as well as his allegations towards Aleksander according to fightersonlymagazine.co.uk.
"Kharitonov is lying. Everything he said about me in his interview is nonsense, wrong and delusional. He must have spent too much time hanging out at the gay parades in Amsterdam and turned a little strange," Aleksander said.
It all began when Aleksander called Fedor's coaching staff the "two amoebas" that were incompetent in preparing him for his bout with Dan Henderson. Subsequently, Kharitonov responded by calling Aleksander a "drug addicted alcoholic" who Fedor would send to hell if not for their blood relation.
Strong words from Kharitonov who also stated that Aleksander is in fact infected with hepatitis C, a disease long rumored to be the cause of Aleksander's departure from a 2008 Affliction MMA event.
"Let's start with Hepatitis C. I am prepared to take a test in any clinic, with any observers. If it comes out negative, Kharitonov should cut off his finger. If they find that I have the disease, I will cut off my finger, so that it's clear to all who is a liar. This is my offer to Kharitonov and if he refuses then I think it's already clear who the liar is," Aleksander said.
"You know what Sergei is missing? A jester's hat. He says everywhere that he is special forces. In reality, he was a clerical rat in the army, who never even went into action. When he became a fighter, it was me who made up his entire ‘special forces paratrooper' image, including his entrance songs!" Aleksander added.
It would seem that these two are doomed to continue their verbal jabs at each other unless a formal bout can be made.
Kharitonov is scheduled to fight Josh Barnett in the semi-final round of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix on September 10 as well as fighting in an October United Glory event held in Moscow, Russia.
No further news for Aleksander in terms of his next fight. He has been avid in the Russian MMA scene as of late, going 8-1 in his last nine fights.
