Amir Sadollah ready for his welterweight debut

“One thing I learned is how important rest is. You think more is better but that’s not usually the case … knowing to say when enough is enough and when to say this is not enough, keep going. It was a time for me to grow and learn. I definitely stayed perpetually active the last year, aside from a few weeks I had to sit out. There was nothing to do but keep doing what I’m doing. (Welterweight’s) a new territory for me but actually in a strange way it’s forced me to eat so clean that I actually feel better training for this fight. That’ll be the test on August 8. I’m anxious to see myself.”

The Ultimate Fighter season 7 winner Amir Sadollah talks to the Canadian Press about his return to the octagon following a more then a year layoff due to multiple injuries that have sidelined him over the past year. He hasn't fought since scoring submission win over CB Dollaway in his official MMA and UFC debuts at TUF 7 finale last June.

Sadollah (1-0) was first scheduled to face Nick Catone at UFC 91 last November, however, he was forced to bow out of that bout due to a leg infection. The fight was later rescheduled for UFC fight night 17 earlier this year but Sadollah was again forced to pull after braking his clavicle.

Perhaps the third time is the charm for Sadollah as the now healthy Xtreme Couture fighter will make the move down to welterweight to take on former WEC fighter Johnny Hendricks at this Saturday's UFC 101. The event takes place from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
