Amir Sadollah vs. Brad Blackburn slated for UFC Fight Night 20 on Jan. 11
by Jacob Camargo on December 01, 2009

A welterweight bout between TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah and Brad Blackburn is in the works for UFC Fight Night 20 on Jan. 11 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. News of the bout was first reported by The Newark Examiner.

The UFC Fight Night 20 main card had just three bouts rather than the traditional four but with the addition of Sadollah vs. Blackburn, the fourth spot is now filled for the televised portion of the card.

Sadollah will be fighting in front of his home state fans, as he was born in Richmond, Va. He most recently scored an impressive unanimous decision win over veteran Phil Baroni at UFC 106 on Nov. 21. Sadollah has also been involved with Spike TV, as he hosts "The Aftermath" web video series, where he sits down with members of this season's TUF 10 to recap each episode.

Sadollah sports a 2-1 record inside the Octagon with his only loss coming from a controversial stoppage against Johny Hendricks at UFC 101 in August. Sadollah won the Ultimate Fighter season 7 tournament by defeating CB Dollaway at the TUF 7 finale in June 2008 -- in what was considered his official MMA debut.

Blackburn (15-9-1) is currently riding a six-fight unbeaten streak, which include wins in his first three UFC bouts over James Giboo, Ryo Chonan and most recently Edgar Garcia. He hasn't fought since the win over Garcia at the TUF 9 finale in June, as he suffered a severe shoulder injury in the fight. Blackburn hasn't been defeated since April 2007, when he was on the short-end of a unanimous decision to TUF 9's Mark Miller.

Blackburn has fought with other notable promotions during his eight-year career such as Ring of Fire, SportFight, Rumble in the Ring and the IFL, where he put together a respectable 4-2 (1 NC) record from April 2006 to April 2008. He has finished 11 of his 15 career wins and holds notable career wins over the likes of Pat Healy(x2), Gustavo Machado, Chris Wilson, Delson Heleno and a 40-second TKO win over highly regarded Jay Hieron.

The Spike TV televised event, UFC Fight Night 20, is headlined by a crucial lightweight tilt between Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz. Other bouts featured on the main card include TUF 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero taking on undefeated prospect Evan Dunham and a middleweight bout between Tom Lawlor and Aaron Simpson.
