Anderson Silva: “In my opinion, Lyoto won all rounds.”
by Natalia Baage on October 27, 2009

According to the current middleweight champion Anderson Silva, the judges were right, and the winner of UFC 104's main bout was, indeed, Lyoto Machida.

"They fought well, made a good fight, but Machida won well," Silva said to Tatame. "Lyoto fought well, was very well-trained. It was a hard-fought fight. Shogun fought at his pace very well - was very prepared, is very experienced - but the technique was superior and Lyoto won resoundingly."

Silva continued to say that the main event of UFC 104 was a fight that fans wanted to see. He said that Mauricio "Shogun" Rua's leg kicks were a good strategy, but they were not enough to beat Machida.

"In my opinion," said the middleweight champion, "Lyoto won all rounds."

Silva and Machida are currently looking to return to Brazil and begin training for the rematch between the two light-heavyweights. No date or venue has been set.

 |  (94) Comments JujitsWho: No wonder he doesn't learn english......then we'd know what a fuckin moron he is from hearing it from him and not a translator Surprised he had time to even do an interview in between ducking competition.......what a tool I hope Belfort breaks his jaw Ceelarence: I hate Anderson now. Hes such a douche. I mean, I can understand backing your teammate or whatever.. But really dude? All rounds, technique won? I guess Machida did have great technique in recieving most of the damage. He is very good at taking leg kicks I suppose. Wake up Anderson. thebutterflybee: I wanna multipost both of you. Yet another reason for me to think Anderson Silva is a cock. I want Vitor to literally smash his face into a gazillion pieces. arlovskiviako: Stupid fucks. How can you really want the fans to hate you? thebutterflybee: I think he might be hitting the crack pipe. I heard that NSAC doesn't test for that. Little_Kang: Haven't I've heard this before, Anderson talking smack about his former teammates..... alexbond: If I was Shogun I would call Anderson out, then when he makes up some bullshit excuse, drill him to the media and make him look like the complete fake he is. alexbond: I've been saying this for a while now, NO WAY does Anderson take a fight with Rua. Jason Lee: And we all know Anderson has no bias opinion whatsoever.................. IwishIwasMMA: Dont worry, Spidey will get what is coming to him very VERY soon. He has to beat both Marquardt and possibly even Shogun now. His future is now looking pretty tough. Giada Esposito: All I know is, when Silva finally gets back in the octagon, I hope the fight doesn't go to a decision. Even if it ends up being a fair one there will be no end to the whining and bitching after UFC 104. Wandering_Minstrel: I wouldn't say ill of G_Row, mostly because we both said that Hendo was going to KO Bisping at UFC 100... and look what happened. G_Row is kinda like a cop. Tough job involving difficult decisions with very little in way of rewards. Even cops have off days. As far as G_Row's nut-huggery goes... we're all nut-huggers (especially Jade... she loves them from what I hear) in some way or another. But yes, I hope Vitor brutalizes Silva, forcing him to run out of the octagon, refusing to speak to the press. Oh, the sweet poetic justice. thebutterflybee: Can I just go on record as saying of all internet-isms, I honestly feel "nuthugger" is the worst phrase I have ever heard. Add that to the fact that it is used so much, and I quite often throw up in mouth. alexbond: And people say I nutthug Rumble... IwishIwasMMA: He stuffed Hendo after Hendo was hurting badly from a combination that normally puts Rich Franklin out. Hendo easily took Silva down in the first round then proceeded to land about 100000 hammer fists on his face for one round. If there is one thing we know about Quest, its that they have no idea what BJJ is, but are trained heavily in GNP. GSP is an all around fighter who has a great chin, and knows how to combine footwork with good all around striking. GSP is better then Hendo, and that is all there is to it. Hendo is a wrestler who has shown again and again that if he lands on his back, or in an excellent guard, he loses. I love Hendo, but his weaknesses he has never corrected. IMO, if you want Silva to lose, throw him SHOGUN at LHW or GSP/Marquardt at MW. If they play smart, its a W IMO. IwishIwasMMA: GSP wont allow Silva to KO him like he did Serra... and Serra we all know was a shot to the back of the head that caused the greatest and luckiest event in mma history. Lutter on the other hand.... he showed the world that Anderson can easily be beat by a combo of Amazing guard passing and wrestling. Lutter also showed the world that he needs to find a serious camp and work very hard before he ever reaches he true physical peak and skill peak, leading to the loss that he more than likely would have never had if he would have just made weight and had a serious camp. all speculation, but i mean damn... spidey was served that night alexbond: I think GSP might have more problems than people think, I can see it going either way actually, GSP might be able to keep him on the ground for five rounds, but Silva has great power (especially at 205 which is where he should fight IMO). GSP's chin isn't like Hendo's. Little_Kang: Anderson is for suck gsp and shogun for win IwishIwasMMA: Sorry Ashka, but i do not hate Anderson at all... just like GSP, Fedor and himself, i want to see them all beat to show they are not invincible. I will still read fights the way i normally would to though, not throwing some random like belfort to strip anderson, or some random like thiago silva to anderson... or some random like mark coleman to beat fedor. gsp is a perfect match up for anderson... and i hate to say it... but you are wrong about anderson being better in all areas except wrestling. wrestling is an obvious advantage, and i would say ground game is all gsp as well. gsp is one of the only fighters to have a unique wrestling and bjj base for the ground. this makes him nearly impossible to keep down when you are on top, and nearly impossible to stop him from cutting through your guard easily again and again. BJ Penn had no answer for GSPs guard passing and ground skill and their is a difference between their ground games.
