Anderson Silva believes that other fighters can beat him
by Natalia Baage on October 08, 2009

"Sometime, someone will beat me, that's a fact. Someone will end up catching my arm, my foot, and submitting me - this will happen, that's for sure. If I retire before it happen, that's fine. But I want all the people to know that I am prepared for anything. I am training hard not to get hurt, but somebody will beat me. Is there anyone better than me? For sure, but we don't know where he is."  - Anderson Silva

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva recently spoke with Fighters Only Magazine about not being invincible. Silva currently holds a very impressive UFC record of 10-0 (25-4 MMA). Although he is on an 11-fight winning streak, Silva admitted that he is beatable, and that he is aware of the other fighters' talents.

Silva's upcoming bout is against Vitor Belfort at UFC 108 in January 2010.

During Silva's first five professional fights, where he was 4-0, he worked at a McDonalds in Brazil, "The Spider" revealed to Fighters Only. He started training full-time when he was offered the change to fight Hayato Sakurai, who was the Shooto champion at the time. Silva won that bout via unanimous decision to become the Shooto middleweight champion at 167 pounds.

Although Silva began training in martial arts at the age of 14, he wanted to join the Brazilian police force. All of his male family members were police officers, and he has great respect for the police department.

The current middleweight champion holds notable wins over Forest Griffin, Thales Leites, Patrick Cote, Dan Henderson, Rick Franklin (x2), Nate Marquardt and Chris Leben.
