The latest bout in the works for March 31's UFC Fight Night 21 is a lightweight match-up between The Ultimate Fighter season 5 cast member Cole Miller and TUF 9 lightweight runner-up Andre Winner. Apparently, one of the fighters has formally agreed to the bout, though bout agreements have yet to be signed.
Winner (10-3-1) picked up his first UFC win in his last bout by scoring a brutal first-round knockout over Roli Delgado at UFC 105 in November. The win snapped a three-fight winless streak, which included a loss in his official UFC debut against Ross Pearson in the lightweight final of The Ultimate Fighter reality series at TUF 9 finale in June.
The Cage Warriors Fighting Championships and Cage Rage veteran has finished half of his 10 career wins and holds notable wins throughout his three-year career over Jeff Lawson, AJ Wenn and Mario Stapel.
Miller (16-4) is 3-1 in his last four bouts, most recently notching a first round submission victory over Dan Lauzon at UFC 108 on Jan. 2. The performance earned Miller "Submission of the Night" honors. His lone loss over that stretch came in his previous bout against TUF 8 champion Efrain Escudero at UFC 103 in September.
Miller sports a 5-2 UFC, with other notable Octagon wins coming over Leonard Garcia, Jorge Gurgel and Junie Browning; while suffering his only other UFC loss against the hard-hitting Jeremy Stephens. The American Top Team Fighter has competed for other notable promotions throughout his four-year career such as Shooto, Full Throttle and Absolute Fighting Championships. He has scored stoppages in 14 of his 16 career wins including 11 by submission.
Though not officially announced, UFC Fight Night 21 is reported to take place on March 31 at the Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event will serve as the lead-in on Spike TV for the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter 11.
