Former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski, signs with ProElite according to mmafighting.com.
ProElite is the MMA promotions company responsible for the now defunct EliteXC promotion. ProElite recently decided to reenter the MMA business with an event planned for August 27 that will take place at Blaisdell Arena in Oahu, Hawaii.
Arlovski (15-9) is one of the notable names tied with the reemergence of ProElite and is expected to headline the August 27 event. Arlovski has been struggling as of late, losing his last four fights. His last victory was over Roy Nelson at EliteXC: Heat back in 2008. It is still unclear who Arlovski will fight.
Additionally, Kendall Grove might be making an appearance. ProElite's director of operations, T. Jay Thompson, revealed that the native Hawaiian might be one of the fighters signed with ProElite. "Da Spyder" was released from the UFC after going on a two fight losing streak, 7-6 overall since winning The Ultimate Fighter, being defeated by Demian Maia and Tim Boetsch in his recent fights.
Another rumored fighter for the card is former UFC combatant, Drew McFedries (9-6). McFedries' most recent outing was a tko victory over Gary Tapusoa in the third round at a Titan FC event. McFedries was 4-5 in his UFC career.
