Strikeforce officially added a light-heavyweight matchup between Anthony Ruiz and Aaron Rosa to the organization's May 15th debut event of ShoMMA: "Strikeforce Challengers."
ShoMMA's debut is set to take place on May 15th in Frenso, California and the main event of the night is a lightweight bout between Billy Evangelista vs. Mike Aina.
Another fight was officially added to ShoMMA's May 15 debut event today as a previously reported female bout in Kim Couture vs. Meisha Tate was confirmed by Strikeforce.
Former Strikeforce top light-heavyweight contender Anthony Ruiz is 1-2 in his last three fights and he hasn't fought since suffering a loss to Trevor Prangley at Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion II in September 2008. Prior to the Sept. 2008 loss, the 21-12 Ruiz defeated Jeremy Freitag at EliteXC: "Unfinished Business" in July 2008.
Aaron Rosa has been idle since last June's Adrenaline MMA debut event, where he defeated Ron Fields. Rosa was suppose to fight Seth Petruzelli at last October's EliteXC: "Heat", however, the bout was scrapped due to Petruzelli replacing Ken Shamrock against Kimbo Slice. Rose sports a overall MMA record of 11-2 and he is veteran of EliteXC’s “Challenger” series, where he went 1-2 before the promotion folded.
