Antonio Silva To Fight Justin Eilers For EliteXC Heavyweight Title
by Paulo Silva on June 30, 2008

Antonio Silva (10-1) will face Justin Eilers (19-6-1) at EliteXC's July 26 event; the second such event on CBS. The news comes courtesy of sources close to the event. The event will also broadcast fights on Showtime, which may look to showcase a night of Brazilian fighters, with this fight at the top of that Showtime's portion of the card.

Eilers, a veteran of the UFC, is coming off of wins in 10 of his past 11 fights and will look to derail one of the worlds top heavyweight fighters in Silva.

Silva is currently riding a three fight winning streak and is considered among the best young heavyweights in the world. He is coming off of a less than impressive decision victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez and will look to prove that a knee injury he fought with against Rodriquez was cause for his less than stellar performance.

Below is a look at the rumored card for EliteXC: Unfinished Business as it stands:

CBS Portion

Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith (EliteXC middleweight fight)

Jake Shields vs. Nick Thompson (EliteXC welterweight title fight)

Nick Diaz vs. Thomas Denny

Showtime Portion

Antonio Silva vs. Justin Eilers (EliteXC heavyweight title fight)

Shayna Baszler vs. TBA
