by Jacob Camargo on November 08, 2009

A light-heavyweight bout between Antwain Britt and Scott Lighty is in the works for Strikeforce: "Evolution" in December. News of the bout was first reported by curtisandkyle.com.

This bout could end up stealing the show as both men like to push the pace and keep the fight standing. Britt possesses knockout power in both of his hands, while Lighty is a powerful striker as well, with over 40 K-1 bouts on his resume.

Britt (9-3) was a cast member on the eighth season of the Ultimate Fighter. He actually earned a spot in the house by defeating Ryan Jimmo in the elimination bouts, but was sent home after it was revealed that he broke his hand in the fight.

Britt is coming off a second place finish in an eight-man tournament at Vendetta Fighting Championship: "A Night of Vengeance" in September. In the tournament he won two tough decisions, one over UFC vet Carmelo Marrero, but lost in the final against Rodney Wallace. Britt has finished seven of his nine career wins by TKO or KO and holds other notable career wins over the likes of Wayne Cole and Antonio "Samuray" Mendes.

Lighty is coming off a win over Mike Cook at Strikeforce: "Carano vs. Cyborg" in August. He previously defeated Jamiah Williamson at a ShoXC event in September of 2008. Lighty has put together an undefeated 5-0 MMA record, finishing all but one of his five wins, including three coming by TKO or KO. He currently trains at The Pit in San Luis Obispo, California, which is home to former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell.

Strikeforce: "Evolution" takes place on Dec. 19 at the the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., and the event's main card will be televised live on Showtime.

The event features former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le returning to take on the hard hitting Scott Smith. In addition, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Matt Lindland will face each other in another middleweight feature.
