Australian light-heavyweight James Te Huna has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC and is expected to debut with the promotion in February. The UFC signing of Te Huna was first reported by Fighter's Only.

The signing comes as no surprise as the promotion is expected to fill its roster with many local Australian talent in the months leading up to the promotion's Australian debut in February 2010. The UFC's debut in the land down under, UFC 110, is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney.

Te Huna will carry a five-fight winning streak into the octagon, with his past four wins coming by TKO or KO. He most recently defeated former UFC fighter Anthony Perosh via first round knockout at CFC 10 on Aug. 21 in Australia. The King of the Cage and Xtreme Fighting Championship veteran has put together a 11-4 MMA record in six years of professional competition, with nine of his wins coming by stoppage including six by TKO.

Te Huna holds other notable career wins over Antony Rea and Edwin Aguilar, while suffering two of his four career losses against top level opponents in UFC fighter James Lee and Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard. Also of note, Te Huna trains with PRIDE and DREAM veteran Mark Hunt.
