Bellator Fighting Championships held its seventh weekly event last night from the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois. The event will be telecast on ESPN Deportes via tape delay.

Bellator FC VII featured two semifinal bouts from the promotion's welterweight tournament as well as 7 non-tournament bouts.

In the evenings headliner, Omar De La Cruz advanced to the finals by defeating former UFC middleweight champion Dave Menne. Menne looked good in the beginning of the fight as took down De La Cruz but then De La Cruz landed a solid knee on Menne, which clearly rocked him. De La Cruz then proceeded to a unleash an onslaught of devastating punches on a downed Menne, thus prompting the stoppage.

In the other tournament bout, Lyman Good made his way to the finals by defeating Jorge Ortiz. Good clearly was in control of the fight showing superior striking and out-positioning Ortiz on the ground. The fight was stopped by the cageside doctor due to a deep cut on Ortiz's head.

Lyman Good and Omar De La Cruz will now meet in the finals of Bellator Fighting Championships welterweight tournament to determine who will earn the promotion's welterweight title and $100,000. 

In notable non-tournament action, UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez set a Bellator record by knocking out Jay White just 10 seconds into their heavyweight bout; and Kerry Vera, who is UFC light-heavyweight Brandon Vera's wife, bested Leslie Smith in the evenings lone female bout.
