Ben Rothwell, Elvis Sinosic out of UFC 110
by Natalia Baage on February 18, 2010

Ben Rothwell and Elvis Sinosic have both been forced to withdraw from their bouts at this weekend's UFC 110 event.

Rothwell, who was set to face Mirko Cro Cop in a heavyweight battle was put out of commission by an unknown illness. He will be replaced by Anthony Perosh. Perosh is Sinosic's training partner, who has previously fought twice in the Octagon back in 2006.

Sinosic was scheduled to fight Chris Haseman in a rematch of their 1997 fight. However, Sinosic has suffered a shoulder injury and was also forced to withdraw. With no replacement for Sinosic, this fight will be scrapped from the card.

The UFC has stated that all other fights will remain the same.

 |  (22) Comments thug4less: Seriously, Rothwell! The freakin' fight is in three days! Maybe they knew a week or so ago and are just now saying. I predict Cro Cop will destroy this new guy coming in on such short notice. Jason Lee: Damn, that sucks! I was actually really looking forward to the Cro Cop/Rothwell fight.... now, Cro Cop should destroy his new opponent.. if he doesn't, then it's time to hang it up. This is his chance to get his groove back. Cro Cop via Head Kick! D_V: Nobody can seriously feel sorry for Sinosic can they. He's the worst fighter to ever be given a UFC fight. 8-12-2 or something of the sort. Dana should be embarrassed. I guess there isn't much to determine which undercard fights will make the airways. both of them. Giada Esposito: That stinks about those two late drops from the card! Cro Cop better win, or the UFC is going to have it's own version of Seth Petrozelli after tonight. :p And I love Wandy too, so I'm going to feel a little bad when Bisping gets his hand raised at the end of their fight. Not too bad, though. :D As far as fight-induced, um, "excitement" goes, if Nogueira locks in an armlock or choke on Velasquez, I'm going to be quivering with pleasure myself. But if Sotiropoulos stops Stevenson, I'm probably going to straight-up explode! ;)
