"Bigfoot" Silva talks about Alistair Overeem: "I know I can knock this guy out"

Antonio Silva, otherwise known as Bigfoot, says that he is confident that he can knockout Alistair Overeem when the two face each other at the Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix semifinals according to mmamania.com.

"I respect Overeem, but I'm going to train hard. I'm going to train for three rounds, hard. I know I can knock out this guy. I can fight stand-up, fight on the ground, believe me" Silva said.

Silva quickly rose from near obscurity when he thoroughly defeated Fedor Emelianenko in their Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix quarterfinal bout. Using his size and strength, Silva battered one of the former pound for pound best fighters in the world. With that decisive win, Silva is set to fight Overeem and almost sent Emelianenko into retirement.

Overeem has been on a roll, notching up seven consecutive wins and becoming the favored to win the Stirkeforce heavyweight grand prix tournament. However Silva isn't fazed by Overeem as he appears to be on the top of his game as well, riding a three fight win streak and his sole lost in four years was to Fabricio Werdum.

"I told you before, if I beat Fedor, I would win this tournament. I promised my fans, I promised my family, and I'm going to win this tournament" Silva said.

I'd actually love to see the odds on this fight. In fact, if the numbers are good enough I may even take Bigfoot for the upset. Let's just hope while big foot is pounding on reem, he will have a bigger heart than his brother. IwishIwasMMA: I doubt Big foot will win. He is not going to win the striking exchanges, and if Uber defends the take down, he will be in the position he wants to be in.. without having to worry about a million take downs. I also think that Barnett is the guy who has the best chance of winning this tourney. Him or Uber.. my dark horse is the russian sambo beast man. The Hitman: Reality is if Overeem doesn't fight better and be more agressive Bigfoot could smash him. It will only take one shot from Silva and Overeem is asleep. On the flip side I think Overeem opens up more and gets the 1st round TKO. He is the superior striker. He still has to worry about the TD, but not even close to as much as he did with Werdum. WAR OVEREEM!!!!! IwishIwasMMA: Bigfoot is good, but I found that his striking was okay against AA. I found it was okay against Fedor.. I just dont believe Big foot is a good striker.
