Brandon Vera Plans To Stay At Heavyweight, Wants A Rematch With Tim Sylvia
by FiveKnuckles.com Staff on December 05, 2007

Brandon Vera (8-1), was apparently offered a fight in early March but declined due to the status of a broken hand he suffered in a unanimous decision loss to Tim Sylvia.

Vera has five fights remaining on his current UFC contract and plans to continue fighting at heavyweight despite the UFC's repeated attempts to get him to drop to the light heavyweight limit of 205 lbs.

“I was like, ‘For what? I ain’t moving nowhere,’” Vera told TheFightNetwork.com. “Why the hell would I even think of moving [down]? I have a whole bunch of stuff to do still. I’ve got to beat Tim. I'm not going to let that one go. Our paths will cross again, I promise.”
