Breaking Down UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi Odds
by Ben Zeidler on March 30, 2010

I wasn't kidding in the introduction; this card literally has some of the best values I have ever seen. I don't know what the oddsmakers were thinking but their loss is our gain.

Kenny Florian (-350) vs. Takanori Gomi (+250): Gomi would have smoked Florian...about five years ago. They're very different fighters now and Florian should win this one going away. I'm not sure that the -350 is deadly accurate - I have it more around a -250. So if you feel lucky, get a small play on Gomi. For me, however, it's...

No bet.

Roy Nelson (-350) vs. Stefan Struve (+250): Before I even saw the odds on this one, I thought it would be a good match up for Struve. He's got the length and cardio on Nelson so as long as he stays off the ground, I think he's got a decent shot of taking this one.

Bet 1 unit to win 2.5 units.

Ross Pearson (-230) vs. Denis Siver (+180): Siver is no joke, ladies and gents. He's won his last four...and he finished all four fights. Out of those four, two won KO of the night. Most forget that Siver was once cut from the UFC before returning and racking up the 4-0 record. This is a hungry, dangerous fighter and I have no idea why he is at +180. Their mistake is our gain.

Bet 2 units to win 3.6 units.

Gleison Tibau (-300) vs. Caol Uno (+220): I can't believe this one is so one sided, either. Tibau's got the better BJJ but Uno is a pretty savvy wrestler and has tons of experience. I think this one is a pick ‘em, making the +220 enticing.

Bet 1 unit to win 2.2 units.

Andre Winner (-180) vs. Rafaello Oliveira (+150): The underdog parade continues with Oliveira, who should be able to handle Winner on the ground quite easily. He needs to watch out for Winner's heavy hands early but if he can do that, there's no reason he can't take this fight.

Bet .5 units to win .75 units.

Nik Lentz (-140) vs. Rob Emerson (+110): I cannot believe that Emerson is the underdog here. He looked downright special against Manny Gamburyan and despite two losses in 2009, he's continued to improve and add to his repertoire. I doubt Lentz will have an answer for the hungry Emerson.

Bet 1 unit to win 1.1 units.

Jason High (-180) vs. Charlie Brenneman (+150): Both fighters make their UFC debuts on this card and both have a wealth of talent of potential. I have an "in" where Branneman trains and I hear his wrestling is out of this world. So despite my better judgment (High's wild performance in the DREAM tourney), I'm taking Brenneman by decision.

Bet .5 units to win .75 units.
