UFC 103 will be the first card to offer a total of 13 fights, and BetUS gives you the opportunity to bet on six of the contests that will go down in mid-September. Dallas' first numbered UFC event features a bevy of interesting contests, including a few #1 contender matches.
Josh Koscheck (-375) vs. Frank Trigg (+275): Kos is looking to regain his top 5 status at 170 with a win over the expense of the returning Trigg. While Kos should win this fight, the odds here have him a bit overvalued. It's not as though Trigg is coming out of retirement, he's merely switching promotions. We saw a weak chin from Koscheck in his last fight and although I don't believe it denotes a pattern, it is enough to scare me away from betting on the curly-haired wonder boy. I'm going with baldy on this one.

Rich Franklin (-170) vs. Vitor Belfort (+140): Our night's main event represents an interesting connection of styles. Both are on with streaks following a period of losses and both can throw bombs with the best of them. This can't go more than 2 rounds and I think you'll see Franklin's big game experience pull him through. Even still, avoid the instinct to bet here unless Franklin drops below -120.
No bet.
Junior dos Santos (-125) vs. Mirko Filipovic (-105)
The first of two potential #1 contender matches features a surging dos Santos against a newly-competent Filipovic. Cro Cop has looked better as of late, but I don't think he'll be able to keep up with the 9 years younger Junior. Look for the Brazilian to dominate all facets of this fight and put his name in line after Cain Velasquez.
Bet 2.5 units to win 2 units.
Mike Swick (-175) vs. Martin Kampmann (-+145)
The second #1 contender fight has fight of the night written all over it. Both guys are as tough as nails and can get hit without issue. Swick has been brilliant at welterweight whereas Kampmann has been just good, getting knocked out by Nate Marquardt. While it's no shame in getting KOed by "The Great," it does tell us some things we need to know about this fight. It tells us that Kampmann can be KOed (so can Swick, but that was 2004) and it tells us that the parallels between Swick and Marquardt's fight games could be a factor.
Bet .875 units to win .5 units.
Tyson Griffin (-240) vs. Hermes Franca (+190): Not too much to say here in terms of odds making. The odds are dead on, so avoid a play unless one guy drops in your lap. However, as a fight fan, I could go on for days. These guys fight fast and have a combined 6 "Fight of the Night" awards. Don't bet here and just enjoy the mayhem.
No bet.
Efrain Escudero (-160) vs. Cole Miller (+130): I can't find a ton of tape on Escudero, so it's tough to say how good he will be for sure. He did win The Ultimate Fighter, but as we all know, the winners of the earlier seasons blow recent winners out of the water. Cole Miller, a surprising 4-1 in the UFC, will be a tough test for Escudero. No respect for Cole means big bucks for you.
