Brendan Schaub, Erik Koch, Edson Barboza and Anthony Njokuani all walked away with $70,000 post-fight bonuses after UFC 128, Dana White announced at the post-fight press conference.
Schaub and Koch were each awarded a Knockout of the Night bonus since no fight on the card ended in a submission, while Barboza and Njokuani walked away with the Fight of the Night bonus.
Schaub brutally knocked out legendary kickboxer Mirko Filipovic in the third round of their heavyweight affair. The two battled back and forth in a hard fought match until Schaub clipped Filipovic as he was coming forward. It was Schaub's fourth straight victory.
Featherweight fighter Erik Koch was awarded the other knockout bonus after he left his opponent Raphael Assuncao unconscious on the canvas. Koch caught Assuncao with a counter right hook and the Brazilian dropped right away. It was Koch's second Knockout of the Night award in a row.
Barboza and Njokuani, two exciting lightweight strikers, had a back and forth fight on Spike TV that saw Barboza take a razor thin decision victory. The two kept exchanging strikes, with Barboza rocking Njokuani multiple times while Njokuani clearly landed more blows. The fight was capitalized with a spinning head kick that Barboza landed in the final five seconds of the third round.
All four fighters walked away with an additional $70,000.
