Brock Larson to meet Mike Pierce at UFN 19
by Jacob Camargo on August 04, 2009

The UFC Fight Night 19 fight card is not quite complete as once thought. A welterweight bout between Brock Larson and Mike Pierce is the latest and possibly final addition to the event which takes place on September 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Since rejoining the UFC, Larson has won two straight against Jesse Sanders and Mike Pyle. Prior to entering the UFC, he went 4-1 with the WEC, with his only loss coming to Carlos Condit. Out of 26 career wins, 23 have been via stoppage including 18 by submission. He holds other notable wins over Damarques Johnson, John Alessio and Carlo Prater.

Pierce is currently riding a five-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming against TUF 7 cast member Paul Bradley at RIE: "Brotherly Love Brawl" in April. Prior to the win over Bradley, he fought in the WEC, where he defeated Justin Haskins at WEC 39 in March. He holds an overall MMA record of 9-1, with 6 wins by TKO or KO and he suffered his lone loss against Nathan Coy at SportFight 23. He holds notable wins over Mark Miller and Mike Dolce.

UFN 19 will serve as the lead-in to the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter and will feature a main event between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard.

Also featured, Roger Huerta will fulfill his last fight on his UFC contract when he faces rising contender Gray "The Bully" Maynard.
