I've never actually seen a person transform into a human bobble head...until I saw Bruno Carvalho light up opponent Claudio Chatuba like an overactive pinball machine.
Originating from Brazil, Carvalho trains and instructs at CM System under founder Cristiano Marcello. With over 10 years experience in the field of Muay Thai, Bruno is considered by many to be the best 155-pound kickboxers in all of Brazil. He holds an unprecedented Muay Thai record of 24-0 with 18 of those coming via knockout. Aside from representing CM System's fight team, Bruno recently founded the Bruno Carvalho Team (BCT), which is one of the biggest Muay Thai teams in the country.
Carvalho teaches his students a blend of MMA-ready style techniques in which he thinks is the best route to partake for success. With such an impressive Muay Thai resume, it only made sense to Carvalho to step into the MMA scene where he is now marking his territory one punch at a time.
Bruno jump-started his professional MMA career when he squared off against opponent (5-2) Vitor Tofanelli on the 5th of December, 2009 and cruised to a win in the second round via guillotine choke. Carvalho currently holds a professional MMA record of 6-1 inside of the cage. Of those six wins, three come via (T)KO, two via submission, and one via decision. All three knockouts have occurred during the very first rounds, making Carvalho a very dangerous opponent right out of the gates.
He most recently tossed, scrambled, and fried opponent Claudio Chatuba's eggs on May 7 winning via TKO at 1:45 of the very first round. After creating a good amount of ruckus, Carvalho is gaining attention within the MMA community and has been tabbed as one of the top Brazilian's to watch in 2011.
He has out crafted and beat some of the toughest Muay Thai fighters currently fighting in MMA including Andre Amado and Edson Mendes Barboza, Jr. under muay Thai regulations. Amado has fought for such organizations as K-1 and Dream, while Barboza is currently one of the top rising stars of the UFC holding an undefeated record of 2-0 inside of the octagon.
Carvalho takes the next step in his MMA career on July 17 when he makes his major MMA debut for DREAM on July 17 against Eiji Mitsuoka in Tokyo.
