"He's been through this process, we have the history. But if someone else has the need for this replacement [TRT] they will have to come to us." - Marcio Tannure on Vitor Belfort via Tatame

Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) medical director, Márcio Tannure confirms that UFC middleweight contender Vitor Belfort will be allowed to apply for a testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT) exemption for UFC on FX 8.

Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director, Keith Kizer recently revealed that even though Belfort previously tested positive for banned substances at Pride 32: The Real Deal, he could still apply for a TRT exemption with the commision, but that it would be extremely difficult for the commission to approve his therapeutic exemption because Belfort would have to prove his need for the medical exemption wasn't the result of prior steroid use.

Belfort will take on former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold at UFC on FX 8 with Rockhold will be making his much anticipated UFC debut.

UFC on FX 8 is scheduled for May 18 inside the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil.
