Yet another change has been made to the preliminary portion of the UFC Fight Night 19 fight card as TUF 7 runner-up C.B. Dollaway will replace Aaron Simpson and take on Dan Miller in a middleweight bout at the event. The news comes courtesy of our friends over at MMAWeekly.com.
Aaron Simpson was pulled from the event to reportedly replace Wilson Gouveia against Ed Herman at UFC 102. Simpson and Herman were previously slated to fight at UFN 19, however, Herman jumped at the opportunity to fight sooner and replace the injured James Irvin and was set to meet Wilson Gouveia until he got injured.
Dollaway is coming off a loss against Tom Lawlor at UFC 100 last month. Prior to the loss, he'd won two straight in the UFC against Mike Massenzio and Jesse Taylor. Dollaway is now a even 2-2 in the UFC thus far, with the only other loss coming against Amir Sadollah in his official UFC debut at TUF 7 finale in June. The Arizona Combat Sports trained fighter has recorded stoppage wins in all but one of his 8 career victories.
Miller suffered his first loss in the UFC in his most recent bout against Chael Sonnen at UFC 98 in May. Prior to the loss, he was unbeaten in 10 straight bouts, which included wins in his first three UFC bouts against Rob Kimmons, Matt Horwich and Jake Rosholt. Out of his 11 career wins, 8 have been by stoppage including 7 via submission.
UFN 19 will take place on September 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Ok, and will be directly followed up by the debut episode of the tenth season of the Ultimate Fighter reality series.
The main event of UFN 19 will be a lightweight bout between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin Gulliard. Gray Maynard and Roger Huerta will also battle it out in another featured lightweight bout. UFC notables such as Carlos Condit, Chris Lytle and Nate Quarry will also appear on the main card.
