Cameron Dollar vs. Kit Cope in the works for Ring of Fire on Dec. 4
by Natalia Baage on October 22, 2009

TUF 9 alum Cameron Dollar will likely face former WEC lightweight contender Kit Cope at an upcoming Ring of Fire event on Dec. 4. The news was confirmed by Dollar in an exclusive interview with FiveKnuckles.com.

"I'm very excited to fight him," Dollar said. "I've been training hard."

While it has not been confirmed if the contracts are signed yet, they were supposed to be signed today.

Dollar and Cope were supposed to face each other on Oct. 10, but Cope pulled out of the fight to film a new reality series for Spike TV, said the TUF 9 alum.

The Ring of Fire promotion guaranteed Dollar a two-fight contract if he were to take the fight against Cope.

"Hopefully, that'll open up Joe Silva [UFC matchmaker]'s eyes or the eyes of the WEC," said Dollar, "and, hopefully, I'll get a third fight with one of those organizations afterwards. That's my goal."

Dollar (5-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was a competitor on the ninth season of Spike TV's "The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom." After winning two fights on the show, he was ultimately defeated in the semi-finals. Dollar was then granted the opportunity to fight at the show's finale in June, which he did, losing to Jason Dent via anaconda choke. Dollar has not fought since the finale.

Cope (3-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC, 0-1 WEC) was once a WEC lightweight contender, losing to Rob McCullough. He took part on the MTV series "True Life," being featured on the episodes "I'm a Muay Thai Fighter" and "I'm a Mixed Martial Arts Fighter."
