Chad Corvin vs. Joey Beltran officially added to UFC 113 prelims

The UFC today announced the addition of a heavyweight bout between undefeated prospect Chad Corvin and UFC sophomore Joey Beltran to the preliminary portion of its UFC 113 event. The event takes place on May 1 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Corvin, who signed with the UFC in January, has put together a 6-0 MMA record since making his pro debut in March 2007. All six of the wins coming via first-round stoppage (4 KO/TKO's). In fact, no opponent has lasted more than 2 minutes in the cage with the 6'5", 250-pound prospect.

Corvin has also fought for Kentucky's Warrior Fighting Challenge, and the Florida-based Xtreme Fighting Championships. He last saw action against Scott Barrett at XFC 7: "School of Hard Knox" in February 2009.

Beltran (11-3) is currently on a two fight winning streak. He most recently scored a second round TKO win over Rolles Gracie in his Octagon debut at UFC 109 last month. He previously defeated UFC veteran Houston Alexander at a 5150 Combat League event on in January.

Beltran has competed for other notable promotions throughout his three-year career such as King of the Cage, Strikeforce, Total Combat and Bellator. He has finished all of his 11 career wins including 10 via TKO, and holds other notable career victories over the likes of Wes Combs and Sherman Pendergarst.

UFC 113 is headlined by a light-heavyweight title rematch between champion Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. In addition, welterweight contenders Paul Daley and Josh Koscheck will square off with a possible title shot on the line.

Other bouts set for the main card of the event include Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione, Alan Belcher vs. Patrick Cote and Jeremy Stephens vs. Sam Stout.
