Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva set for UFN 20
by Jacob Camargo on October 17, 2009

A middleweight bout between TUF 1 cast member Chris Leben and Jay Silva will take place on the quickly growing UFC Fight Night 20 fight card. News of the bout was confirmed by Silva with MMA Recap.

Leben (18-7) has lost two straight bouts against Michael Bisping at UFC 89 and, most recently, against Jake Rosholt at UFC 102 in August.

Rumors swirled following his loss to Rosholt that Leben did not train adequately for the UFC 102 bout, which was his first bout back in the Octagon afterbeing suspended for nine months after he tested positive for the synthetic anabolic steroid, Stanozolol, in a drug test administered by the UFC at last October's UFC 89.

Leben has not been victorious in a fight since defeating Alessio Sakara at UFC 82 in March 2008. He sports an 8-5 record in 13 fights with the UFC, scoring notable Octagon wins over Luigi Fioravanti, Patrick Cote, Jorge Rivera, Jorge Santiago and Terry Martin. The seven-year veteran has finished 14 of his 18 career wins, including 10 by TKO or KO. He holds notable wins outside the UFC over Benji Radach and Mike Swick.

Silva (5-2) is coming off a loss in his UFC debut against CB Dollaway at UFC Fight Night 19 last month. Prior to the loss, he had won three straight bouts over the likes of Mike Johnson, Reggie Orr and Ray Lizama. The Ring of Combat and Call To Arms veteran has finished four of his five career wins by TKO or KO.

The yet unannounced UFC Fight Night 20 is expected to take place on Jan. 11 in Virginia and the main card will air live on Spike TV.
