Welterweights Chris Wilson and Mike Pyle look to rebound from recent losses suffered inside the octagon when they face each other at Ultimate Fight Night 19. News of the bout comes via MMAFanhouse.
Wilson hasn't fought since losing to John Howard in a bout that earned both men "Fight of the Night" honors at UFC 94 back in January. He is now 1-2 with the organization, with a previous win against Steven Bruno and loss in his promotional debut against Jon Fitch. IFL veteran, Wilson, sports a 14-5 MMA record, with 11 wins coming by way of stoppage, garnering notable wins over Pat Healy, Jay Hieron, and Rory Markham in the process.
Wilson was originally scheduled to fight Brock Larson at UFC 98, however, he was pulled from the event after the Nevada State Athletic Commission didn't give him medical clearance due to last minute health issues.
Pyle made his UFC debut at UFC 98 against Brock Larson as a last minute replacement for Wilson and eventually suffered a first-round submission loss to the longtime WEC veteran. Prior to that loss, Pyle had won four straight including wins over Brian Gassaway and JJ Ambrose. The Xtreme Couture product is a submission specialist with 15 of his 17 career wins coming via submission. The 10-year veteran has fought for numerous promotions such as WEC, Affliction, Strikeforce, M-1, EliteXC, IFL and Sengoku.
UFN 19 will take place on September 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The event will air on Spike TV and will serve as the lead-in for the debut episode of the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. The event will likely be headlined by UFC lightweight contender Roger "El Matador" Huerta taking on undefeated rising contender Gray "The Bully" Maynard.
