Two bouts are set for the UFC's first event on FX. Christian Morecraft is set to battle kickboxing extraordinaire, Pat Barry. Josh Neer also set to fight Duane "Bang" Ludwig according to ufc.com.
Morecraft (7-2) will look to bounce back from a KO defeat to Matt Mitrione at UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry. Morecraft holds a notable victory over Sean McCorkle, submitting him at UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis. Morecraft sports a 1-2 record in the UFC.
Barry (6-4) needs to get back in the win column with a victory over Morecraft. Barry dropped both of his last two fights, losing to Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo. Despite those defeats, Barry still provided an exciting affair. Most noticeably was his bout with Kongo that saw "HD" drop the Frenchmen twice within the opening round only to suffer a knockout counter punch from Kongo.
Neer (32-10-1) enters his bout with Ludwig with great momentum, riding a five fight win streak. Neer last defeated Keith Wisniewski via TKO in the second round that also capped off a successful return to the UFC's welterweight division.
Ludwig (21-11) last fought at UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle against The Ultimate Fighter season eight winner, Amir Sadollah. In that fight, Ludwig thoroughly out-struck Sadollah and even had the TUF winner hurt in the first and second rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory.
UFC's inaugural event on FX is targeted early next year although a set date/venue remains to be scheduled.
