With Cody McKenzie forced out of his fight with Bart Palaszewski at UFC 130, Gleison Tibau has agreed to step up and replace him. The news was announced late yesterday at UFC.com.
UFC 130 is scheduled for May 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gleison Tibau has always had problems with stringing victories together in the UFC. During his 14 career fights with the UFC, Tibau has never won more than two fights in a row.
After two impressive victories over Josh Neer and Caol Uno, Tibau ran into the surging Jim Miller. Miller soundly out struck him throughout all three rounds and took home the unanimous decision. Tibau recently rebounded from that loss with a decision over Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 128.
Palaszewski recently had his four fight winning streak come to a halt when he took on Kamal Shalorus at the last WEC event. The winning streak included a split decision nod over current UFC title contender, and the final WEC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis.
UFC 130 is headlined by a lightweight championship rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
