Could St. Pierre vs. Hardy replace W. Silva vs. Akiyama at UFC 110?
by Natalia Baage on November 21, 2009

Changes to the UFC 110 card in Australia look likely after UFC President Dana White announced that there might be some modifications to the fight roster.

Comments from Dana White suggest that a title fight between Georges St. Pierre and Dan Hardy could replace the long-rumored Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama bout.

"That might change," White told MMAJunkie Radio last night.  "All I said is that might change.  That's my groundbreaking info on that fight. That one might change. We're moving some things around and doing some stuff."

While that does not seem too ominous, the puzzle pieces do not stop connecting there.

During yesterday's UFC Fight Club Q&A, White was asked when the title fight between St. Pierre and Hardy would take place.  White replied that February seemed probable.  Later, MMAJunkie Radio asked if St. Pierre vs. Hardy would take place at UFC 109 on Feb. 6.  White said that the main event for UFC 109 is already taken.

"No," White said.  "Feb. 6 is Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort."

While nothing has been confirmed yet, UFC 110 will take place on Feb. 21, 2010, most likely from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.  Rumored bouts for the fight card include an interim heavyweight title fight between Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez; Mirko Filipovic ("Cro Cop") vs. Ben Rothwell; Rich Franklin vs. Keith Jardine; Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Stephan Bonnar; Chris Lytle vs. Dong Hyun Kim; and James Te Huna vs. Igor Pokrajac.
