Could the Lauzon brothers fight each other after UFC 108?
by Gavin Vincent on January 03, 2010

UFC fighters Joe and Dan Lauzon share the same competitive animosities towards each other as most brothers do. Unlike the Nogueira brothers, the Lauzons are ready to fight one another and seemed excited at a chance to get paid to square off in the Octagon.

"When me and Danny are in the gym training, we usually need some kind of chaperones," Joe admitted. "If we're boxing and one of us hits too hard - the other comes back. Usually it's me thinking he hit too hard or maybe I come at him a little hard."

While the brothers are not focused on fighting each other just yet, as there has been no plans for such bout, Dan expressed the escalation process that becomes a daily struggle when practicing and sparring against his older brother.

"I want to get him back, and hit him, and it just escalates," said Dan. "It doesn't end up being positive training for us. It ends up hurting us in the long run because people are pulling us apart. Like I said, this camp is pretty different. We were side-by-side going through the daily grind together, getting our weight down. And it's much easier when you're training next to somebody that's going through the same everyday things that you are."

The Lauzons both (separately) fought and lost tonight at UFC 108. Dan faced American Top Team player Cole Miller, and Joe took on the Canadian kickboxer Sam Stout. Nothing has been confirmed, however, that's not to say that older brother Joe hasn't thought about the possibility.

"Everyone is always asking if Danny and I would fight each other," said Joe. "I think we would. It would be a little awkward training and preparing for the fight. Usually we get people splitting us up anyway... if somebody wants to pay us? It'd be good fun."

With both brothers losing at UFC 108, we could see them looking to one another to get back to their winning ways in a classic battle of the brothers.

"Yes," said an enthusiastic Dan. "I would fight him. I wouldn't hold back and I know he's not going to hold back against me."
