Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Cung Le, desires to fight Chris Leben at UFC 138 according to mmamania.com.
"If the fans think it is an exciting fight for them to watch, I'm all for it." Le said.
Le (7-1) has been on a hiatus since his last bout against Scott Smith in mid 2010. Le won that bout with a beautifully timed spinning back kick that crumpled Smith to the canvas in the second round. That win also avenged Le's only loss and further established Le as one of the more exciting fighters in MMA.
UFC 138 is being held in San Jose, California which is right in Le's backyard since he trains at the American Kickboxing Academy based there.
"I'm one of those guys that, if it's going to be an exciting fight and a good match-up for the fans to watch, let's get it on. I have nothing to prove, so I'm down to fight anyone if it's going to be exciting for the fans to watch. Right now, it's all up to the UFC. Ever since I heard that Cain Velasquez was going to be fighting in San Jose...I would love to be on the same card." Le said.
A fight between Le and Leben is sure to please any fight fans as both men have put on striking clinics on their past opponents.
With the UFC acquisition of Strikeforce earlier this year, this bout is possible but would ultimately need confirmation from the UFC itself.
UFC 138 is headlined by a heavyweight title bout between Cain Velasquez defending against Junior dos Santos.
