DMX and his manager have filed an addendum to his original Dec. 12 fight contract, saying that he must win the fight.
Rapper DMX had signed a contract to fight in a three-round celebrity bout against Eric Martinez. However, DMX's manager, Nakia Walker, filed an addendum, which read that "Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge," reported TMZ.com.
In addition, Walker also inserted a phrase, stating that: "All parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer."
Thunder Promotions, the promoters of the event, would not sign the contract additions. While DMX is now looking for a way out of the fight against Martinez, Thunder Promotions is looking for an opponent to replace the rapper, and is also looking into filing a lawsuit against him for breach of contract.
The Dec. 12 event will be headlined by Jeff Monson and Travis Fulton, and will take place in Birmingham, AL.
