DREAM 9 is all set to go as all fighters made weight today for the event. The event takes place early tomorrow morning, May 26, from the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan.
DREAM 9 will be broadcast on HDNet at 5 a.m. Eastern, with an encore showing of the event scheduled for May 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
DREAM 9 features the second round of the promotion's featherweight grand prix, which features the return of Japanese superstar Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto. Other participants in the tournament include Joe Warren, Masakazu Imanari, Bibiano Fernandes,Yoshiro Maeda, Hiroyuki Takaya, Abel Cullum , Hideo Tokoro.
The first round of an eight-man open-weight "Super Hulk" tournament will also be featured on the fight card. The tournament's bizarre ensemble of fighters include former NFL lineman Bob Sapp, Ikuhisa "Minowaman" Minowa, Jan Nortje, UFC and Pride veteran Sokoudjou, former Dream middleweight champ Gegard Mousasi, Pride veteran Mark Hunt, former MLB player Jose Canseco and Hong Man Choi
In addition to the tournaments, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Jason "Mayhem" Miller will square off for the vacated DREAM middleweight title. In lightweight action, Gesias "JZ" Calvancante will battle Japanese mainstay Tatsuya "Crusher" Kawajiri.
