A welterweight bout between past "The Ultimate Fighter" alums DaMarques Johnson and Matt Riddle is currently in the works for UFC on Versus 2 on Aug. 1 at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. News of the bout was first reported by MMAjunkie.com.

Johnson (11-7) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, most recently scoring a dramatic come-from-behind third-round TKO victory over Brad Blackburn at UFC 112 in April, earning himself the "Knockout of the Night" award. The fight night bonus was his second straight, as he earned  "Submission of the Night" honors in his previous bout for a first-round triangle choke submission win over Edgar Garcia at UFC 107 in December.

Johnson now sports a 2-1 UFC record, tasting defeat in his official Octagon debut in the TUF 9 welterweight finals against James Wilks. The Extreme Challenge and King of the Cage veteran has finished all but one of his 11 career wins.

Johnson will have the home crowd on his side, as he currently trains out of the Elite Performance Gym with Jeremy Horn outside of Salt Lake City.

Riddle is coming off of a win over Greg Soto at UFC 111 in March. Prior to the win, he suffered the first loss of his young career against Nick Osipczak at UFC 105. TUF 7 cast member has put together a 4-1 MMA record since making his pro debut in June 2008, with all of his five career bouts taking place in the UFC.

Riddle opened up his career with three straight unanimous decision wins against Dan Cramer at UFC 101, Steve Bruno at UFC Fight Night 17 and Dante Rivera in his official MMA debut at TUF 7 Finale.

Other bouts expected to take place at UFC on Versus 2 include a light-heavyweight bout between fast rising phenom Jon Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko, as well as a lightweight scrap between Takanori Gomi and Joe Stevenson, and a welterweight contest between rising prospects Jake Ellenberger and John Howard.
