Counting his victory over formerly unbeaten Will Campuzano over the weekend at WEC 43, Damacio Page has won two straight since dropping a tough loss to current WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles at WEC 35 back in 2008.
The win pushes Page's overall MMA record to an impressive 12-4 and the Jackson's Submission Fighting product doesn't care who he faces next. A showdown between he and formerly undefeated bantamweight contender Joseph Benevides had been discussed before Benevides lost to Dominick Cruz in his last outing, but Benevidas still appears at least open to the fight.
"I don't care." Page told Sherdog.com. "Whoever they throw in front of me. [A fight with Joseph Benevidez] would have been cool and I told everybody if Joseph was #1 contender and I was #1 contender, then lets do this. But, I don't care where they have me. If it's there, it's there."
Given Page's last few performances, one might think he'd have trouble with Benavidez's notable grappling skills. Out of Page's 16 career fights, nine have ended in less than three minutes of the first round; eight of which he was the victor. Page comes into the cage with a vicious attack that has seen him defeat his last two opponents in half the time it takes to cook a Hot Pocket. But one aspect of Page's game most aren't familiar with is his collegiate caliber wrestling skills.
"No one knows I can wrestle, that's the whole thing," Page told Sherdog.com. "I got good wrestling. I have a Junior National College Championship under my belt. I'm a legit wrestler but no one knows."
