Dan Hardy (23-9 1 NC) and Chris Lytle (30-18-5) will meet at UFC on Versus 5, according to MMAJunkie.com.
UFC on Versus 5 is set for August 14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hardy vs. Lytle will be broadcast live as apart of the main card on Versus.
The Brit may be fighting for his UFC career after losing in his title fight with Georges St. Pierre a mere three fights ago. Hardy began his stint with the promotion 4-0 and earned himself a shot at welterweight king St. Pierre after victories over Marcus Davis and Mike Swick. Hardy lost the title fight with St. Pierre but showed amazing grit and determination in lasting all five rounds with the Canadian. Since then Hardy has lost two more fights to Carlos Condit and Anthony Johnson.
A true veteran in the sport, Chris Lytle was shooting for one last shot at the welterweight title. After a mediocre career with the UFC, one that included an abundance of post fight awards and a merely average record, Lytle was able to reel off four straight victories. He was then matched up with Brian Ebersole at UFC 127. A knee injury severely hindered Lytle, as Ebersole walked away with the unanimous decision.
