Dan Hardy throws verbal jabs at Matt Hughes as the Brit criticizes Hughes for his hunting according to their twitter accounts.
Hughes has been getting some backlash recently for a picture he posted of two bobcats and deer he hunted with his twin brother Mark Hughes.
"Me and my brother love to shoot cats! If you don't like seeing dead animals please stop following me. I'm not even going to try and educate you PETA idiots," Hughes said on his twitter account addressing his critics.
The pictures also sparked a response from Hardy who has openly admitted his dislike for Hughes numerous times in the past.
"'Look at what I killed. Aren't I the man? This is the only thing I have found that cures my impotence'," Hardy said on his twitter account.
"There is no justification for what he does...Shooting a wild cat for fun is a joke...I fight against other people that enjoy fighting also. Shooting animals for fun isn't sport and it certainly isn't cool," Hardy continued.
Hardy is no stranger to trash talking and his most recent rendition might be an attempt to bait Hughes into a fight with him. Hardy has already put Hughes' name up to Lorenzo Fertitta, CEO of Zuffa, as the person he wants to fight next.
"I don't have a problem for hunting if there is a purpose for it. I have never read about anywhere being overran by bobcats though," Hardy said.
Hardy has been on a slump ever since challenging George St. Pierre for his welterweight title at UFC 111, losing via unanimous decision. Hardy would drop his next three bouts as well, last losing to Chris Lytle via guillotine choke in the third round at UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle.
Hughes hasn't fared much better, losing his last two fights to BJ Penn and Josh Koscheck via KO. Hardy is in a dire need of a win to remain in the UFC and reestablish himself at welterweight, believing a fight with Hughes is the rebound he needs.
