Dan Henderson defeats Rafael Cavalcante via knockout to capture the Strikeforce belt

The event features two title fights on the televised portion. Light heavyweight champion Rafael Cavalcante puts his belt on the line against legend Dan Henderson, while Marloes Coenen hopes to defend her title form relative newcomer Liz Carmouche.

 

MAIN CARD

Jorge Masvidal vs. Billy Evangelista

Round 1- We are set to begin with Masvidal vs. Evangelista. No touch of the gloves. Feeling each other out in the beginning. Haymakers from Evangelista, they miss. Jabs from Masvidal. Evangelista is taking the center of the cage, forcing Masvidal to circle outside. Caught leg kick by Masvidal, throws Evangelista to the ground. Evangelista gets to his feet and Masvial pushes him against the cage. Evangelista reverses and has Masvidal against the cage, landing knees. Nice knee from Masvidal as they break away. Nice body shot/upper cut combo for Masvidal. Both men swinging for the fences. Evangelista shoots and gets a takedown. Masvidal wall climbs against the cage and they are back standing. Nice knees to the body from Masvidal against the cage. They break away. Masvidal stuffs a takedown. Evangelista's left eyes seems swollen from Masvidal's continued jab. Evangelista shoots for a takedown and is stuffed as the bell rings. FiveKnuckles.com scores it 10-9 for Masvidal.

Round 2- Evangelista takes the center of the cage again. Misses on a leg kick. They clinch after exchanging power punches. Evangelista takes Masvidal down from the cage for a split second but Masvidal pops right back up. They are back standing. Huge uppercut just misses from Masvidal. Trip takedown from Masvidal, landing in Evangelista's guard. Evangelista is back up now. Masvidal stuffs another takedown. Evangelista missed swinging haymakers. Masvidal working the jab. Masvidal seems very calm, and is using his reach perfectly. Another stuffed takedown by Masvidal. Leg kick countered beautifully with a straight right by Masvidal. Another telegraphed shot stuffed by Masvidal. Masvidal switches to a single leg after the stuffed takedown. Masvidal gets the takedown. Evangelista back up almost right away only to be slammed down by Masvidal again. Evangelista uses the cage to stand back up. They clinch against the cage, Masvidal lands a knee to the mid section and breaks. Evangelista winging punches, missing. Leg kick by Evangelista. Masvidal is in cruise control. Round 3- Touch of gloves before round 3. Masvidal already starts with the jab. Both throwing feints. Leg kick misses by Evangelista. Masvidal circling away when Evangelista throws heavy shots, countering with his jab. Masvidal stuffs an initial takedown, Evangelista switches to a single leg and is stuffed again. They clinch and Masvidal lands a big elbow as they break. Masvidal still using his jab. Huge overhand right by Masvidal. Evangelista was visibly hurt by it. Big uppercut landed by Masvidal. Evangelista just cannot hit Masvidal. Masvidal evades some haymakers and pushes Evangelista up against the cage. They break. Haymaker misses from Evangelista. Masvidal simply avoiding Evangelista, using head movement to make Evangelista look stupid. Masvidal still using the jab. Evangelista finally lands an uppercut. Masvidal smiles back at him. Masvidal keeps using his jab and head movement to avoid Evangelista as the round ends. FiveKnuckles scores it 10-9 Masvidal, for an overall scores of 30-27 for Jorge Masvidal.
